The Synod Website Archives
Synod-produced webpages and publications which have appeared on the Synod's website across the years could still be useful to church historians or, in some cases, still have useful information but no group is currently supporting their purpose. Those items are archived here.
If the original document was a PDF (a booklet, a flyer, etc.) that PDF has been preserved "as is" and may be downloaded in current PDF Reader software.
If the item of interest was a webpage, the page was PDF'd and is available in that format. It is likely that page breaks won't be attractive; many web pages (especially in earlier years) were not styled for print.
You may want to turn on the "print background" feature of your printer if your goal is to print a file.

• Disaster Preparedness Booklet (2007)
In 2006-2007 a series of Disaster Assistance publications were produced under Synod sponsorship. The final publication summarized and updated earlier material and that publication, "Partnering with Community Organizations to Benefit People in Your Church and Neighborhood" is available for download in both screen and print versions. This is the same publication that was mailed to each church in the Synod in December 2007.
The booklet is available in 2 forms: - Screen read (or print 8.5 x 11 pages
Booklet format
(printed on 11 x 17 sheets, double-sided, folded into 8.5 x 11 booklet)
- One of the first requests for peacemaking funds from the newly-created CCPM was from Santa Barbara Presbytery that needed a loan to complete the work on their college ministry program, "The Front Porch." This successful ministry now has its own website and its own history, but some may be interested in the information made available to the Synod in those early planning stages.

The Synod of Southern California and Hawaii and the Synod of the Nile in Egypt have had a formal partnership for more than a decade. There have been a number of exchanges with representatives of this Synod visiting Egypt, and representatives of the Synod of the Nile visiting this Synod. Dick and Marge McIntosh of Los Ranchos have most recently served as coordinators of the partnership for this Synod. We are in communication as well with the EVANGELICAL THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY in Cairo. Please join in the prayers of the Synod for our partners in Egypt.Archived: Letter from the Seminary, February 7 2011
